                 Fibrodyplasia Ossificans Progessiva

FOP is a genetic condition that causes muscle and tendon to turn into bone. The slightest knock or bump causes painful flare ups that cause irreversible bone growth. People with this condition slowly grow a second skeleton and can not get needles, injections or biopsies because the bone might start to grow more. There are only 600 people diagnosed with this condition in the world. 80 to 90 percent of them are women 18 or older. Research teams for this condition is not funded by the government. There is no known cause and no known cure for this condition. That is scary.
is condition.
