Whipples disease
Whipples disease is a very rare disease that effects the digestive system. It is caused by the Tropheryma Whipplei bacteria and can spread to the heart, lungs, brain, joints and eyes and can be very life threatening.
There is no known way to prevent Whipples and is more common in middle aged white men between the ages of 40 and 60. In places without fresh water or good sanitation people have a higher chance to catch Whipples.
The bacteria lead to the development of internal sores and make body tissues to thicken. When the villi in the small intestine begin to thicken and change shape they can not absorb nutrients effectively.
early symptoms;
- joint pain/ inflammation
- diarrhea sometimes bloody
- weight loss
- stomach pain/ bloating
-decreased vision/ eye pain
-fever
- fatigue
- anemia ( low RBC count)
Symptoms when the disease gets worse
- skin discolouration
- inflamed lymph nodes
- chronic cough
- pain in the chest
- swelling in the sac surrounding the heart
- heart failure or murmurs
- problems seeing
-dementia
-numbness
-insomnia
- muscle weakness or tic
-problems walking and remembering
Whipples is treated with anti-biotic and a high calorie diet.

2nd 5 week work out post
These past few days I have been pretty good about my workouts, except I only jog/trot to school instead of a complete jog. On Monday we had choice so I went up to the weight room as usual and went on the elliptical and went on resistance 17 out of 20 for 35 minuets on the " hill interval" setting. I went up to 2600-ish strides which is higher then my usual but nothing that great. I will continue my work outs and find different ways to improve.

6 Week Fitness plan review number 1
Yesterday was the first day on the fitness plan I have made. The day went off at a rocky start, in the morning I completely forgot the fitness. When I jogged to school I found it was very difficult to jog with a heavy backpack on, also with the frequent road stops to cross made it hard to exercise so I just did this awkward trot for a while. Yet the afternoon was much better, we did the pond run for 35 or so min. This is a good workout for cardio because we jog in intervals for a long period of time. I found that since the beginning of the semester my energy has improved and during the pond run I did not just jog faster then usual but ran for a small amount of time. That is a big improvement for me.

1 The type of bond is polypeptides because they are made of amino acids
2 The secondary structure form the alpha helix because one side is positive and one side is negative so the repel and attract each other making a spiral shape.
3 what created the third structure was that some amino acids repel each other while others attract so the spiral pinches into itself to make a 3d shape. My protein looks different from everyone else's because there is a very large variety of amino acids that react differently from each other so each one looks different.
4 the fourth structure is created when two or more polypeptides stick together.
5 The protein would not have the same shape if I changed the primary structure because then different reactions would occur that would result in a different shaped protein.

Colon Cancer Surgery Questions
The surgery was so cool. I never knew that if your over fifty that you have to get checked once every two years. It was amazing when the surgeon pulled out guts from a small window in the skin, it was also gross to a degree. When the surgeon was moving the organs around I could see the small intestine for the diagram. I hope after the cancer is taken out that the doctor gives the patients a nutrient dense diet to help prevent cancer again.

6 week fitness plan
How this plan works is that I follow the one week plan below for six weeks.
I have made this workout fit into my daily life by working it into every thing I do. For example, I live 30-35 minuets away from school and is on a heavy hill and I walk everyday. So I will start jogging to school even on the hills. This does not take time away from my schedule and gets me to school and home faster.
My main goal is to improve my cardiovascular endurance.
Cardiovascular endurance is the ability of the heart, blood, blood vessels and lungs to supply oxygen to the muscles during long periods of exercise.
Pre fitness testing; 25 min run ; 4.5 laps
MONDAY Before school; calf lifts 50
Jog to school
After school; Jog uphill and run flat areas
Use timer and walk up and down stairs for 15 min
TUESDAY Morning; 50 calf lifts
Jog to school
Afternoon; walk up hills and run flat areas
walk up and down stairs for 15 min
WENSEDAY Morning; skip rope 150 skips
Jog to school
Afternoon; Jog uphill and jog flat areas home
calf lifts 50
skip rope 150
THURSDAY
morning; ship rope 150
Jog to school
Afternoon; Jog uphill run flat areas
walk up and down stairs for 15min
FRIDAY morning ; skip rope 200
jog to school
Afternoon; jog up hill run flat areas
jog up down stairs for 15 min
SATURDAY GO TO GOLD STONE PARK AND JOG FOR 25 MIN
SUNDAY GO TO GOLD STONE PARK AND JOG FOR 25 MIN
I plan to repeat this process for 6 weeks and do the 25 min run and see if I improve

There are many different versions of Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome and a whole slew of symptoms. They almost always include hyper-flexibility of the joints and the skin as well.
There are some pretty serious issues, though, like very low bone density, chronic degenerative joint disease and an early onset of osteoporosis. This disease can also cause varicose veins, extreme nearsightedness, and very life threatening vascular issues.
There are no cures for any forms of this disease, which is genetic, but treatment of individual symptoms has had some success

Biology and Kinetics; In terms to biology I believe I should receive an "A" for the following reasons. I have completed all my assighments and I have never been late. Any day I was away I had a good reason. On the Heart Test I got 35 out of 37 which is an "A". All the marked assighments I has gotten back were 100% or close to 100%. In class I do not interrupt and work well. I feel my mark should be the same for Kinetics because again, I have completed all my assignments. I have never been late and all my absences have been excused.
Super fit; I have been good with this class. I arrive everyday on time and all my absences are excused. My fitness goals have been to improve my cardiovascular endurance. To work on this I have downloaded an app to help me achieve my goal. My main goal is to achieve a level nine or higher on the bleep test and/or achieve five to six laps on the 25 min run. Cardio is not my only goal I am working on my ability to do the splits. I have photos of me doing the splits when I am at home or in the weight room, I will up load them as soon as possible.

Respiratory Lab Questions
1 a change in colour in the limewater indicates that there is more co2 in the limewater.
2 the control test tube is to show comparison to the testing test tub.
3 the change in colour of the universal indicator means the PH of the water has changed.
4 the purpose of the control beaker is to show comparison to the test beaker.
5 in the test beaker of water I blow bubbles in it so co2 can dissolve in it. Then the universal indicator turned the water a dark orange colour showing that the water is more acidic because of the co2.
6 the beaker is demonstrating what happens in my body because it show the acidic properties in co2 that is in my body that I have to get rid of. If I do not get rid of the co2 then my blood will get more acidic and I would then die.
7 My blood does not become acidic because the co2 returns to the lungs after the oxygen is used up and goes through the alveoli and out of my lungs and into the atmosphere. That way the co2 gets out of my body so my blood does not become acidic.
8 when the volunteers breathed through the paper bags their breathing rate rose because the oxygen was running out so the body started to breath faster in an attempt to get more oxygen into the body.

The plastic bottle is supposed to act as the chest cavity, the straw is the trachea. The plastic band could be the epiglottis. The balloon is the lungs and the blue balloon is the diaphragm. The difference between the model and real life is that in real life we have two lungs and not one. Also the model lacks alveoli and all the little but important functions of the lungs.
